Senior Manager, Remittance & Payments

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage remittance systems and payment gateways to ensure all systems are available for daily operations.
  • Review and process SWIFT transactions on time.
  • Review and process trade finance transactions including but not limited to letters of credit, bank guaranty, and bank collection.
  • Review and design efficient process flow of transactions taking into consideration the internal and regulatory policies.
  • Strategize to improve remittance business in terms of quality, quantity and volume.
  • Report monthly profitability of the department to the Operations and Retail Banking Heads.
  • Review pricing and recommend changes if necessary.
  • Build and maintain good business relationship with customers, partners, correspondent banks, counterparties and other stakeholders.
  • Address customer concerns and/or complaints properly and timely.
  • Authorize domestic & international remittances, both outward & inward in a timely & accurate manner.
  • Ensure complete and correct documents are obtained from customers & kept according to retention policy.
  • Review relevant reports to verify GL, Nostro and settlement account balances.
  • Monitor Nostro account balance with correspondent banks.
  • Authorize posting of accounting entries. Ensure correct entries are posted.
  • Provide reports or files required by bank partners, regulators, other departments of the bank or customers within the specified due date.
  • Assist branches and other bank units in processing transactions or resolving issues related to local or international remittance and payments products.
  • Flag suspicious transactions to Compliance Department.
  • Guide the Remittance & Payments Clerks, Officers & Supervisors in proper procedures & reconciliation.
  • Prepare regulatory/management reports.
  • Other ad hoc functions assigned by management.

Job Qualifications:

  • Year of experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in managerial role in remittance & trade finance operations. Applicants without previous managerial roles but with leadership skills are welcome to apply.
  • Technical Competencies:

• Familiarity with SWIFT systems and payment gateways.

• Good understanding of NBC Prakas related to CIFTP/Bakong, local clearing networks, etc.

• Computer literate.

• English speaking and writing proficiency.

• Able to write internal documents/process manuals.

  • Behavioral Competencies:

• Leadership skills.

• Good organizational skills.

• Strong attention to details.

• Has initiative and can work with little supervision.

• Patient and focused on providing solutions to stakeholders.

• Problem-solver and creative-thinker.

• Good time management skills.

      • Ability to work under pressure and in a competitive environment.
